Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) in College Station, TX

The lymphatic system is a network of slow moving vessels and lymph nodes in the body that carries cellular waste toward the heart, to be filtered and removed. Lymph also carries lymphocytes, and other immune system agents. Manual lymphatic drainage can improve waste removal and immune function.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to stimulate the lymphatic system, to assist in the reduction of localized swelling and encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the muscle tissue back toward the heart. It affects the body’s fluid management, fascia, muscles, joints, viscera, nervous system and so much more.

Who would benefit from this type of therapy? Most people can, some more than others. Even healthy, well functioning people. Proper functioning of the lymph system is critical to the body’s ability to drain stagnant fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissues, filter out toxins and foreign substances, and maintain a healthy immune system.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy works to help recirculate body fluids, stimulate the proper functioning of the immune system, and balance the autonomic nervous system (ANS). It is shown that when these actions are accomplished they can result in:

  • Reduction in edemas (swelling) and lymphedemas of many origins
  • Relief of chronic and subacute inflammation and conditions such as acne, eczema, and allergies
  • Immune system stimulation for preventive and therapeutic effects
  • Regeneration of tissues (e.g., from burns and pre/post surgical scarring)

Post Op Lymphatic Massage

Specializing in lymphatic post op massage, helping you get to a good place after surgery!

  • Drain tubes are no problem (Usually we can see you within the first few days of surgery)
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Address fibrosis and fibrotic tissue (Hard spots that develop in the tissue after surgery)
  • Decrease discomfort
  • Identify seromas early (1 in 4 people will develop a seroma after surgery)
  • Minimize scar tissue along your incision (This is best caught early)

More than just a massage or lymphatic drainage. With this service you will receive post op care tailored around your specific needs. The session will be tailored to fit your needs and meet your goals even as they change and you progress. Whether you just had liposuction, tummy tuck, fat transfer, surgery to address lipedema, or other random surgery like being caught in a stampede we’re here for you. Post op lipo or tummy tuck can be exciting and at the same time scary. Many people fear that massage will hurt but finally come in because their discomfort out weighed the fear, to find that the massage didn’t hurt at all but rather provided them with the long sought relief they have been looking for.

We will help you through this process as well as discuss with you things you can do for self care at home. We will also share with you any resources that may benefit you along the journey. When choosing a therapist for your post op care go with experience and results. We am trained specifically in post op care and management with results to show. We use many methods but we consider ourselves to be principle based practitioners who are concerned with helping you reach your goals using whatever methods or techniques that are required.

We also provide non invasive Laser lipo fat cavitation (Fat reduction / elimination) and RF skin tightening! This is a separate service that compliments your post op results by “touching up” any missed fat during surgery, lumpiness, unevenness, sagging skin, and stretch marks. This is also a good follow up to address fat in the arms, legs, and chin! We include this as needed in your post op sessions at no additional cost.

OK, so now what

Book your first four massages during the two weeks following surgery, two each week.

This allows us to get ahead of the ball of inflammation, discomfort, hard spots, which influences tissue health leading to a speedier recovery! We will reevaluate during each session to determine how often you should follow up and adjust your appointments accordingly.
